Fields

Sunset Park  - 5200 Miller Road, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156

Sunset Park is the main location for the YAA's seasonal play. Four grass and five dirt infield diamonds allow for over 30+ baseball and softball games to be played each week during the YAA's spring and fall seasons. Sunset has become the home to the annual Brian Krueger Memorial Tournament, which hosts over 40 teams in addition to the Thunderstruck Classic travel baseball tournament, which both occur every July. A free standing concession is staffed for all games throughout the season.

Sunset Park also features Krueger Field.  On April 27, 2006, the Village of Lake in the Hills honored Brian Krueger by naming Field 1 at Sunset Park after him. In 2008 his family planted a tree and placed a plaque in Brian's memory to the southeast of the field. During the Brian Krueger Memorial tournament, teams from around the area have the opportunity to play the game they love on the same fields at Sunset Park where Brian enjoyed his four-year baseball career.

Baseball energized Brian. Even when his body was so weakened by his illness, he played with heart, determination, and courage.
